The Shining Tapes, an alternative rock duo from Grenoble, showcases a unique blend of rock, electro, and pop
influences, embracing an eclectic musical identity.
With original compositions and the recent release of ‘Modern Romance’, they continue their creative journey. Together, Vincent Agache and Frédéric Bonnier are dedicated to creating music that resonates, paving the way for a revelation of sound.
The Shining Tapes was born in the spring of 2021, during lockdown (Covid19), from association of Fred. Bonnier and Vincent A., both members of the SONOVOX band.
This duo decided to pool their creative ambitions, to give birth to the Shining Tapes, a project of original compositions inviting musical reminiscences such as David Bowie, Radiohead, Archive, Pink Floyd, Talk Talk, Talking Heads, Depeche Mode, Peter Gabriel, and the dreamlike and mysterious universes of JRR Tolkien, Stephen King, David Lynch.

In their current creative process, Vincent A. mainly brings the musical raw material which is then kneaded by the singer and co-arranger Fred. Bonnier, delivering powerful and heady melodies with a voice enveloped in both femininity and masculinity.
The Shining Tapes are the sonic illusions that lie dormant in us, where shadow meets light. It is the emotions that they arouse, steeped in contradictions, that adjust the balance between yin and yang, those that summon madness and lead us astray in a labyrinth, or reason that guides us to the end of the tunnel.
